Pearl Gupta is the Head of Finance at Lumine Group. 

With extensive experience in financial advisory, financial reporting, process improvements, and pre and post M&A activities, Pearl Gupta is a seasoned finance leader. Based in New York City, she leads Lumine Group's finance operations on a global scale.

After graduating from the University of Toronto, Pearl began her career at PwC where she obtained her CPA, CA in the distressed consulting practice, working with companies looking to turn around their businesses through divestitures and restructurings. 

Pearl later transitioned to a fintech start-up, CanCap Group, where she established and led the finance function, overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting and financial planning, and corporate development. She notably led the IPO of two funds on the TSX Venture Exchange. 

In addition to her professional achievements, Pearl has served as past President and past Treasurer of various not-for-profit organizations that focus on providing opportunities to underserved communities. 

In her spare time, Pearl enjoys traveling and reading sci-fi adventures. 

Q: What excites you most about the future of technology?

I am thrilled by the opportunities created through the expansion and innovation of new technologies. We are at the forefront of a world that only existed in books and movies from my childhood. New technologies are being launched at an unprecedented pace, transforming how we live and work. This presents an incredible opportunity for us to be a part of the process, guiding the development of technology that will shape our future. We have the power to adapt, change, and demand from technology what we desire.

Q: What has been one of your favourite moments as part of Lumine?

My favourite moment so far as part of Lumine Group would be the day Lumine shares began trading and we were awarded the opportunity to open the markets at the Toronto Stock Exchange. 

Q: What values do you live by?

Operating with transparency and integrity are key pillars for me. Additionally, I am a curious person who seeks to understand the how and why behind everything, and I encourage my team to do the same. I believe this approach empowers us with the knowledge to challenge the status quo and bring about meaningful change.
