In Conversation With: Amy Benoit, SVP of Human Resources at Lumine Group
At Lumine Group, Human Resources is beyond an administrative function, it is a key strategic partner driving organizational success post-acquisitions. Among many other roles, Human Resources plays a crucial role in talent development by providing the tools and opportunities employees need to grow and succeed.
Through targeted learning programs, mentorship, and career planning, HR supports individuals at every stage of their leadership journey. This investment not only enhances individual capabilities but also strengthens the organization’s leadership pipeline, ensuring long-term success.
In our latest installment of the In Conversation With series, we sit down with Amy Benoit, Senior Vice-President, Head of Human Resources at Lumine Group, as she shares insights into the post-acquisition journey.
Watch the video below and read more to dive deeper into Amy’s perspective.
Q: How does Human Resources work to drive talent development in companies’ post-acquisition?
Amy: When a company joins Lumine, the leadership team is taken through a series of playbooks that touch on every function—including HR. From there, our HR team plays a hands-on role. They make sure everyone in the business knows about the different development opportunities available to them, like external coaching or leadership assessments. They also introduce them to events like our Strengthening Summit, the High-Potential Summit, and Illuminate.
HR is truly at the heart of our talent programs. They’re there to support people, champion growth, and help each person feel seen, supported, and, in true Lumine fashion – illuminated.
Q: How do learning events support Lumine’s ethos of ‘illuminating our people’?
Amy: For us, learning events are one of the most meaningful ways we bring that idea to life. They create space for people to grow, connect, and collaborate, especially important in a remote-first world. These gatherings are created to challenge people to step outside of their comfort zones, giving them the opportunity to live-out Lumine’s values of humility, curiosity, intensity, and numeracy. We give them the opportunity to step back from day-to-day work and focus intensely on personal development, new ideas, and building relationships that stretch across businesses and geographies. That’s where a lot of the magic happens.
Q: What sets Lumine learning events apart?
Amy: It really comes down to our belief that people are our power. We invest in these events because we want our people to feel inspired, empowered, and part of something bigger. And we’ve heard directly from attendees that these experiences leave a lasting impact.
They’re not just about professional development, they’re about feeling connected to Lumine’s vision and energized about the future. For founders and business owners, it’s an incredible opportunity to give their teams access to learning experiences they might not have had before.
Q: How do you measure the success and impact of learning events on both individual employees and the organization as a whole?
Amy: Our investment in people through everything we’ve mentioned; personalized coaching, mentorship and learning events has proven to be highly successful. We take pride in promoting from within, which demonstrates that our approach is effective. By nurturing our employees’ growth and development, we create a strong foundation for their success and ours.
Q: How are new leaders supported during their transition into the Lumine Group ecosystem?
Amy: We know that stepping into a new environment can be both exciting and overwhelming—especially post-acquisition. That’s why we provide a thoughtful onboarding journey that goes beyond just the basics. New leaders are guided through our playbooks, connected with mentors, and introduced to resources like leadership assessments and executive coaching. It’s all designed to help them feel confident, connected, and ready to thrive within Lumine.
Q: What role do cross-functional collaborations play in talent development?
Amy: We really believe that some of the best learning happens when people from different parts of the business come together. Whether it’s at one of our summits or during a project that spans teams, these collaborations give employees a chance to learn from each other, spark new ideas, and grow in ways that go beyond their day-to-day roles. It’s part of how we build community and create space for continuous growth.
Q: Any final thoughts on the future of talent development at Lumine?
Amy: At Lumine, we see talent development as an ongoing journey—not a one-time initiative. As Lumine continues to grow, so does our commitment to creating opportunities for our people to learn, lead, and feel truly supported. Whether someone’s just joined us or has been here for years, we want everyone to feel seen, valued, and inspired to shine in their own unique way. That’s what illuminating our people is all about.
